NECRO RITES FOR NATIONAL ARTIST FRANCISCO MAÑOSA AT CCP

THE Cultural Center of the Philippines and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts paid tribute to the late National Artist for Architecture Francisco “Bobby” T. Mañosa through a state necrological ceremony held at the CCP Main Theater Sunday, February 24, 2019. Interment took place at the Libingan ng mga Bayani after the necrological services. The event began with the Arrival Honors led by the Philippine Navy at the CCP Front Lawn, followed by a procession at the Ramp and the Necrological Rites.

Fellow National Artists paid homage to Mañosa, who had made significant contributions to Philippine Architecture. Mañosa, who was known as the “Father of Philippine Neovernacular Architecture,” was conferred the National Artist Awards in 2018 for his valuable contribution to the development, preservation and promotion of the Philippine Architecture, which is essential to the Filipino identity.
